Free Music = Better World

You know how every once in a while, you come across a website that changes your life?
Well, this is not one of them, but it's a good site anyway. It lets you download music for free, and guess what? You won't go to jail for it! Granted, it only has a few songs up at a time, but they upload new tracks every day, and I find that it's actually a great way to discover new music. So take THAT, itunes!
It's called Downplayer. Enjoy!

Nisa's and Aisa's List of Places to See

I have definitely been bitten by the travel bug. And this year has been pretty good, travel wise- I've been to north (or was it south?) Carolina, England and now Chicago. I wish the weather had been better though- I literally got snowed in for 2 weeks (my entire stay!) in England and my flight to Chicago was delayed by 48 hours thanks to some crazy rains in NY ( I don't know why these american airline carries can't invest in a few sturdy planes that won't fall apart at the first sign of wind). Anyway, my point is that travel is good, and I am a much happier (less crankier) person when I have seen a few new sights and met a few new people. As a result, I have decided that one of my goals for the next few years is to make sure I see atleast 2 new places a year. This is where I get to make a list (yipee!)-
Places that I think will be interesting to visit (in no particular order):
- China ( ok, I'm not going to lie, but General Tso's chicken played a huge part in this choice)
-San Fransisco (because Nisha is going to know all the cool things to do here)
-Colorado (because Jeff will drive us around:D)
-Morocco!!!(bascially everywhere around the mediterranian- interestingly, food plays a huge part here as well)
-Jaipur ( I love the color pink and I love palaces and Jaipur has pink palaces! Woah. )
-Delhi (although i've been here once before, it was prior to reading City of Djinns, so it doesn't count)
- New Zealand (if it was good enough for Frodo Baggins, it's good enough for me! Also, i hear that this is a great place to live, so it will be a good opportunity to scope out the place, all the while pretending to be just on holiday)
While we are on the subject of travel, I love this blog: www.expatharem.com

PS: Niloufer, you can come with us if you promise to behave:P

Down the Rabbit Hole...

I have to admit, I didn't really get the whole Avril Lavigne soundtrack at the end of the movie, but on the whole, it lived up to all my (high!) expectations. I'm not usually a Johnny Depp fan, but I think this movie has me converted. He is just so sad and mad at the same time, it kind of reminded me of Heath Ledger as the joker. If you haven't watched it as yet, here are 5 reasons why you should:
1) The Mad Hatter's amazing hats
2) Two words: red. queen
3) The cheshire cat hanging two inches away from your nose
4) Alice's amazing locks. Golden ramen noodles.
5) You don't want to be THAT person who doesn't know what the Futtawack is.
